Lavender Times is Growing

When I originally started Lavender Times, I intended for it to be a place where I could write about upcycling furniture – specifically, using Annie Sloan paint.

As much as I have enjoyed writing about my projects, sharing other people’s projects and generally talking about upcycling, I’ve started to feel a little hemmed in by limiting myself to only writing about upcycling furniture.

I love all handmade things – though I’m not good at all of them by a long way! But I spend many a happy hour admiring the lovely handmade things that people make and share on twitter, facebook, etsy, folksy, and… the biggie… Pinterest. (If you’re a crafty person, or someone who loves handmade things as much as I do, and you’re not on Pinterest yet… hurry!!)

The only difficulty is limiting how many Pinterest account you can have. I have quite a few.

So from now on, I’m going to blog about the many different handmade things that I love … some of which will be created by me, and some of which will not!

Another part of my reason for doing this is because, for our 2015 wedding, I plan to make as many of our decorations and invites as I possibly can. I really want to be able to put my own creative stamp on our wedding, so I’m looking forward to sharing my ideas with you all.

Oh, and for those of you who are furniture upcyclers or fellow Annie Sloan addicts… worry not! I haven’t stopped adoring Annie’s fabulous chalk paint, and my projects will continue to appear on here! In fact, I already have some ideas in mind for how I can incorporate my love of chalk paint into my wedding!
