I have finally finished the coffee table project which I started a long time ago. When we moved into our house a year ago, this bad boy was hanging around under the stairs, looking a bit unloved and slightly too orange.
It took me a while to decide on a colour; I wanted something that would emphasise the ladylike curves of the table. I thought that having the legs and the top in different colours would do just that, so I decided on Old White for the legs and Coco for the top (I actually started the legs in Pure, but it was a bit ‘too’ white, whereas Old White is that little bit softer.
It took three coats of the Old White to totally cover the wood so if you’re painting with this colour for the first time, don’t be disheartened if you have to paint a few coats.
I wanted to add some prettiness as a finishing touch, so you can imagine my delight when I found this pack of stencils in Paperchase! At only £3.50, I think they’d be really useful for anyone who wants to add a bit of design to a project.
